Voluntary Retirement Incentive Plan (VRI)

The State of Rhode Island is offering a Voluntary Retirement Incentive (VRI) for those state employees of the Executive Branch who are fully eligible to retire on or before December 31, 2017.

The State has conducted a review of its retirement records and will be sending out enrollment packages to those we believe may be eligible via email and the U.S. Postal Service, beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Enrollment packages will include longevity information, participation deadlines, an election form and a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

If you believe you may be eligible for this incentive but have not received a notification from the Department of Administration by Friday, November 10, 2017, please contact the Division of Human Resources at 401-222-2160 or doa.hrcontact@hr.ri.gov.

If you have received the decision package from the Department of Administration, please complete the form below to request a pension eligibility and benefit estimate.
